#2019 to #2020

2019 swept away. Left life long memories, some good some not so good. Whatever, it’s okay.

Happens to all of us. No matter how much we try some things are not in our control. They just happen and we are left wondering at the outcome. The chord apparently is in the hands of the unknown and in spite of the numerous attempts we fail to get the answers. Powerful lessons learned, some wisdom gained hopefully  ( graying of hair I suppose ), shed some tears, pangs overdose, laughed to heart’s content, celebrated some accomplishments, above all realized that I am where I should be. It’s all a safe master plan which I accept ingenuously, after all, remember the cliche, everything happens for a reason.

Now the million-dollar question, what did I really learn? Will I keep continuing to do the same what I did before or will I tread on a different path? If no change, then obviously I am no different from the masses. A fresh start of the new year, learn, unlearn, and imbibe an uplifting mindset. Lofty goals, no absolutely not! I have been guilty of not being on top of them, it’s human after all. Flipside, I am reminded of the quote, ‘I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You are doing things you have never done before, and more importantly, you are doing something’- Neil Gaiman

Instead of making a spreadsheet of what I am going to accomplish I would rather fix a few things that are of value to me.

Losing weight, eat well, sleep more, spend time with family, travel more and the list will go on to infinity, Nah none of these! The prime focus is on quality of thoughts, words, actions, habits, vibrations, energy, and finally self-reflection leading to a wholesome human being. After all, it all starts from the gray cells of our brain, the most powerful tool we have.

Confession, I feel I have always been an individual with a slightly divergent thought process who wants to be heard as needed. So me, yes me, tops the priority list now. I never understood the real meaning of love yourself first if you want the world to love you back. Now that I somewhat get the essence of it, I realize that self-love is the greatest revolution. It does take daily affirmations and practice but it’s the best gift one can offer to oneself.

Kick back, unwind, unravel and elevate yourself to a higher platform each day giving a pat on your back for being Just You!
