Perhaps Maya Was Never The Trap!

…Perhaps Maya Was Never The Trap!

Maya, is it an illusion, a mirage, a smoke screen, or an endless chase game?

Sometimes I wonder if Maya is the world outside us, in the periphery, or the invisible threads woven within us.

Attachments, emotions, roles, expectations, memories, love, fears, and responsibilities slowly wrap around our souls.

We come to earth and form bonds so naturally. Happens seamlessly. A mother cannot detach from her child. A heart yearns for unconditional love. Pain becomes familiar. Comfort becomes attachment.

Karma starts playing with us; it’s an interesting game. We get entangled in the loop.

Perhaps that is why sages call Maya the most subtle temporary reality. Not because love is wrong, but because we begin to believe that everything temporary is permanent.

Everything that moves is ours to keep. We cling. Hold on tight. Fear loss. Sense of self begins to blur.

Interestingly, spirituality does not ask us to stop loving or abandon the world. Not to forget our inner nucleus in the process of giving. It simply asks us not to lose ourselves in the grip of Maya.

Maybe we are here to serve, nurture, and fulfill our duties while remembering that the soul itself is free. Maybe the challenge is not escaping Maya completely, since we live within it, deeply embedded, but learning to move through it consciously. To hold life mindfully instead of gripping it like a tightening rope.

Slowly to realize that everything we meet here is touched by grace, yet none of it can truly be possessed.

And perhaps transcendence begins the moment we understand that attachment binds, but that love, in its purest form, liberates. Leaving room for freedom and inner release.

***Perhaps Maya was never the trap, only the teacher.
