Transactional Relationships, Yes Or No?

…”Transactional Relationships, Yes Or No?”

…Someone mentioned to me that every relationship is transactional.
I kept thinking about it. Is it really true?

Convincing at first. After all, we give, we receive, we expect. That’s how life flows through. Being human means needing. That’s the harsh reality. There is always some exchange of time, energy, and care. And when that balance breaks, we call it distance or disappointment. So maybe it is transactional not in a cold way but in a deeply human one.

***But the more I sit with it, the more I feel that it cannot be the whole truth. There are some moments in relationships that ask for nothing in return, simply pure presence, and a heart without calculation.

Sometimes I sit alone with my coffee and enjoy the peaceful hush around me. No give or take. No, demand or a silent tally. Just a companionship with myself. No one to give to, no one to receive from, and yet nothing feels lacking.

I realize not everything is a transaction. You see, some moments are only meant to be loved and lived. What makes them real, what allows them to endure, is everything that cannot be measured. When nothing is sought, and nothing is owed, what remains is an echoing resonance.

An ease in giving, a natural offering of the heart.

And then, it no longer feels like a transaction, it feels like a connection. An alignment. An invisible thread, like something that simply is.
And perhaps that is where their beauty rests not in what we exchange, but in what we preserve.

You see, not everything that touches the heart can be accounted for. Until one day, we learn that some bonds remain beyond all reckoning.

Timeless.
Sacred.
