“When Silence Spoke.”

“WHEN SILENCE SPOKE.”

Until about ten years ago, I thought I had it all: a materially driven world and both feet dipped in the social arena. Gossip, whims, constant movement, and intoxicated in good cheer, you name it. I lived it.

I believed I needed people around me to feel alive. I thrived on that. Then I felt I may be, or I am, inwardly rooted. Confused, as bad as I could be. I knew I was just “different” from others. Chatterbox one minute, and the next, a mum monk. Trying to fit in, yet never quite fitting, the struggle continued.

Then, unexpectedly, everything fell apart. Boom! A thunderclap.
I thought, “No way, how can this happen to me?”

I had support, admiration, everything that defined me. But the higher power’s plan, for sure, was something else. He was peeling away my ego so I could meet myself beyond labels, facades, and outward layers.

Silence crept in. Loud and deafening. All I could hear were shrieks and the storm of negative emotions pouring out. It was so hard. I was not a happy camper.
That phase cracked me open.

But slowly, cafes, quiet corners, and coffee became my refuge. Pen, paper, unfiltered emotions, hidden truths started flowing, no judgements whatsoever. I let everything flow, exactly as it felt.
That was it. I hugged myself in the most achy and crowded places.

No to distractions.
No to unnecessary noise. No to everything that pulled me away from myself.

“All I craved was my love for myself.”

And then the silence shifted. It whispered gently, “You are doing just fine, and it will only get better. Keep going.”
How much I loved that!

And slowly, life felt lighter, richer, and more aligned.

Silence was my game-changer.

***So, friends, don’t shy away from it. Silence can become your safest listener. When it invites you, don’t turn away. Sit with it.

Because sometimes, the deepest answers are not meant to be spoken at all.

They are simply meant to be felt.
That’s it!

~with heart,
Monika
