Yet, millions of underprivileged children across India silently suffer from undiagnosed vision problems, leading to poor academic performance, low self-esteem, and missed opportunities.
Bachpan Drishti aims to change that. Our mission is simple yet profound — to ensure every child sees the world clearly and enters the world of learning with open eyes and a hopeful heart.
PURPOSE & PROMISE:
To nurture clear vision and inner confidence in disadvantaged school children by integrating essential eye care with emotional support, artistic expression, and creative exploration. Through eye screenings, spectacles, creative journaling, affirmations, and simple Ayurvedic practices like eye relaxation and palming, we promote holistic eye care and emotional well-being in underserved schools across India.
We envision safe, cultivating spaces where children not only receive the gift of clear sight but are also encouraged to express their inner worlds with confidence. Every pair of glasses will be accompanied by colorful journals, kind words, and visual affirmation walls — because every child deserves to be seen, both inside and out and when a child can see clearly, they don’t just witness the world — they begin to believe in their place within it.
As an eye doctor, a mother, and someone who believes in the healing power of words, I witness at my place of work first hand how a child’s world transforms when clarity is restored — not just to the blackboard in class, but to the broader canvas of life.
MISSION:
- Conduct free vision screenings in government and low-income private schools.
- Distribute prescription glasses and arrange for referrals in case of treatable eye diseases.
- Offer creative journaling and visual affirmation activities to support the mental and emotional well-being of children.
- Empower teachers and caregivers with basic knowledge about eye health and mental wellness.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS:
- ₹650–₹790 (approx. $8–$9.50) helps provide a child with an eye exam, spectacles (if needed), and a creative journal kit that includes uplifting affirmations.
- ₹4,150 (approx. $50) can support 5 children with complete eye care and journaling supplies.
- ₹8,300 (approx. $100) helps support 10–12 children with eye exams, spectacles (if needed), and creative journaling kits filled with mindful prompts and uplifting affirmations—nurturing vision and inner clarity.
- ₹41,500 (approx. $500) helps 60–65 children, allowing them to see clearly and express themselves with joy and confidence.
- ₹415,000 (approx. $5,000) will help 525–625 children, changing their educational experience and boosting their self-belief with clear vision and creative tools.
INITIAL FOCUS AREAS:
We are starting with rural and semi-urban schools in Delhi, where access to eye care and psychological support is severely limited.
As the program grows we hope to create chapters in other parts of the world.
